2 Generations of Pre-owned New Look VW Beetles

In 2011 the VW Beetle A5 replaced the previous generation of New Look Used Beetle, and for your convenience we’ve broken down the differences between the two model generations below:

VW Beetle A5 (Second Generation New Beetle) 2011 – 2019
Although the VW Beetle A5 is technically the second generation of the New Look Beetle, it is in fact a very different car to its predecessor. First announced in 2010 with a 2011 model launch date, the New VW Beetle A5 has much more aggressive styling and a lower profile, while still retaining a shape that was clearly inspired by the original Volkswagen Type 1 Beetle. This version of the Beetle had many special editions, some of which we’ve listed below: Black Turbo Beetle GSR Limited Edition Beetle R-Line Beetle Unfortunately this New Generation VW Beetle is also going to be the last Beetle built by VW, as it was announced in September 2018 that the last VW Beetle will roll off of the production line in June 2019. Additionally, VW teamed up with MTV and rolled out the launch of the A5 Beetle across the globe. New VW Beetle (First Generation New Beetle) 1997 – 2011
In 1997 Volkswagen launched its New Beetle, which was inspired by the original Beetle but now included modern safety and convenience features. Additionally, unlike the original Beetle, this new version of one of the world’s most iconic cars was a front-wheel drive that also had its engine at the front. Throughout its production run, there were numerous Limited Edition Beetles released, with some of the most popular including: The 2001, 2002 and 2003 VW Beetle RSi The 2000 Wolfsburg Edition VW Beetle The 2010 and 2011 VW Beetle Final Edition Each one of the new Beetle cars built had a number of design similarities to the original VW Beetle. This was purposely done to honour the original Beetle. These similarities included separate fenders, vestigial running boards, sloping headlamps, large round tail lights, as well as the highly identifiable rounded roofline. Did You Know? The 2011 Beetle was awarded 5-stars for its EURO NCAP Safety Test! Additionally, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the New Beetle a Good overall score during its frontal crash test.
