4th Generation Suzuki Vitara 2015 – Present
First seen at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the current 4th generation Vitara is the first one to be sold that does not include a 3-door model variant. It is sold in South Africa with a choice of two engine sizes (both petrol), while there are 7 different model variants and 3 trim levels. These are as follows: 1.6 GL 5-speed Manual Transmission, 2-wheel Drive 1.6 GL+ 5-speed Manual Transmission, 2-wheel Drive 1.6 GL+ 6-speed Automatic Transmission, 2-wheel Drive 1.6 GLX 6-speed Automatic Transmission, 2-wheel Drive 1.6 GLX 5-speed Manual Transmission ALLGRIP 1.4 TURBO GLX 6-speed Manual Transmission 1.4 TURBO GLX 6-speed Automatic Transmission These are without a doubt the most popular versions of the Vitara on our pre-owned showroom floors and consist of 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 models. We will be adding 2020 Suzuki Vitara to our showroom floors as soon as they become available as well. Did You Know? For its 30th anniversary, the Vitara was given a facelift and features upgrade at the end of 2018 to be sold as the 2019 Suzuki Vitara.

3rd Generation Suzuki Vitara 2005 – 2014 (Still Sold in Some Overseas Markets)
This version of the Suzuki Vitara is still one of the top-selling versions of this vehicle in the pre-owned market due to its availability. It is also sold in both 3-door and 5-door versions globally, which has added to its massive popularity. This 3rd generation Vitara received a facelift in 2008. This also included a safety upgrade which added more air-bags and introduced traction control as a standard feature on all models. It is important to note that The 3-door version was only offered in Australia and New Zealand, the Middle East and in many South American markets. In South Africa only the 5-Door version was available however, we have from time to time encountered imported 3-door versions of this vehicle. Did You Know? The market in which this generation of Vitara was sold determined the engine size as well as if the 3-door or 5-door version was available.

2nd Generation Suzuki Vitara 1998 – 2005
Bigger and stronger than the first generation of Vitara, this is the Suzuki that helped make a name for the brand in the fledgling SUV market. It was sold as either a 3-door compact SUV or a 5-door Compact SUV. This version of the Vitara received design and styling updates in both 2002 and again in 2004. Did You Know? A North American version of the Vitara was rebadged and sold by General Motors as the Chevrolet Tracker. It was also sold under the Mazda brand name as the Proceed Levante in certain South American countries.
